Your students can benefit from No Dole

Running the No Dole program

The Beacon Foundation provides support and resources to schools running the No Dole program. A major resource is this website, which has a password protected section containing tools, templates and best practice information for No Dole schools.

Key people
The school principal is crucial to the success of the program in establishing the right relationships with business and its community. The principal is also the key to ensuring there is a supportive culture within the school where due value is placed on the program.

The school’s No Dole coordinator plans and organises No Dole activities throughout the year. This person ensures classroom activities complement No Dole activities and oversees participation by students. The coordinator is also responsible for monitoring students once they have left school to ensure they stay on track to achieve their goals.

The Education/Industry Liaison Officer plays a vital role in forming relationships with local business and community, which become a valuable resource for No Dole program activities like work placements and industry workshops. They also provide support for students and direction in their pathway planning.

The Education/Industry Support Officer provides administrative support to the Education/Industry Liaison Officer and is occupied by a person at teacher assistant level.
