Val commenced employment with the Beacon Foundation in May 2006. Holding a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Diploma in Education, Val's experience ranges from working as a research scientist to being a secondary maths/science teacher, and establishing and running her own tourism business.
Val enjoys being part of Beacon’s energetic and passionate team, and working for an organisation that consistently shows innovation in its approach to youth unemployment. Val is continually motivated and inspired by the incredible outcomes achieved by the young people in the No Dole program.
Living on the Sunshine Coast, in her spare time Val enjoys spending time at the beach and with her husband Terry, and two children Georgia and Lachlan.
Jade has been with the Beacon Foundation since February 2008. Since beginning as a project officer Jade has since been promoted to coordinator and has loved every step of the way.
During the last two years Jade has worked with an incredible variety of Beacon schools from far north Queensland to Clifton, west of Toowoomba. The highlight of her time at Beacon has been the opportunity to see the growth of the Beacon Student Ambassador Program and the personal development of the students who take part in each and every Beacon opportunity.
Nicohle joined Beacon program. August 2008 as a South Queensland Project Officer and has since taken on the role of Coordinator.
Nicohle first leant of Beacon's work while employed with one of Beacon's major sponsors, Sinclair Knight Merz, as a business support officer. Inspired and excited after having the opportunity to be involved in Beacon events, Nicohle was determined to become actively involved in Beacon's mission. Prior to her work with SKM, Nicohle was employed as a learning and development advisor for NHS in London while on a working holiday through America and Europe.
Nicohle is very excited to join the Beacon team. She is passionate about the issues facing Australian youth and looks forward to the challenge of creating a difference in our community.
Yew Ling started with the Beacon Foundation in October 2009. She has had an interesting and varied career path which started in the fashion industry where she worked in Australia and the United Kingdom as a fashion buyer. Her experience includes business planning, forecasting, sourcing and relationship building with businesses in Europe, USA, Australia and the Far East.
Emma joined Beacon as a Trainee Office Administrator in April 2007. She has since completed her Certificate III in Business Administration and is now Beacon's Administration Coordinator.
Before joining Beacon Emma worked in retail and hospitality.
