Peter Wright 

Peter joined the Beacon Foundation in February 2008 as the new North Queensland Coordinator based in Cairns.

Peter’s previous experience includes 16 years working in banking and finance and another 7 years working in the hospitality, tourism and casino industries. He has recently worked in North East Arnhem Land as the local Bank Manager and in his spare time enjoyed volunteering to co-run the local A.F.L. competition and train as an Auxiliary Fireman.

Peter has 3 fantastic sons, Lachlan, Campbell & Angus aged between 8 & 14.  It’s through them he has developed a passion for wanting to make a difference for young people by encouraging schools and businesses to work together. He thanks his fiancé Heidi everyday for noticing the Beacon vacancy & is excited about working in a diverse region with people who want to help youth onto a positive pathway.

Once he is settled into his new role, Peter plans to get involved in the local A.F.L competition and explore the beauty of the Far North and go camping, fishing and hiking at every opportunity.
