Michael PerceyMichael Percey commenced with the Beacon Foundation in January 2007 as National Operations Manager. With the rapid growth in the number of schools participating in the No Dole program and the potential for further expansion, Mike was employed to assist the Chief Executive in the day to day running of the organisation and to support the No Dole State Managers. Employed in the Maritime Industry for the past ten years as a Commercial Manager and Financial Controller, Michael has a background in Accounting, Human Resource Management and Administration. As a member of the Human Resource Institute of Australia and an associate member of CPA Australia, he keeps up to date with current business developments and compliance. Michael has had extensive involvement with junior football as a coach, umpire and administrator. He believes that most young people seek direction and exposure to the available choices, not only in employment but also in other aspects of their life. Beacon programs such as No Dole, Plan-It Youth and Real Jobs satisfy this need. Michael has been married to Marilyn for 33 years and has 3 adult children, Gareth, Megan and Mark. Outside of work, Michael enjoys rowing, which he has recommenced after previously participating at school and paddling his ‘strip timber’ Canadian canoe which he built with a friend. Michael is also a Rotarian, and has been the Secretary and Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Kingston. Michael is impressed by the energy and commitment of Beacon staff, the leadership provides clear direction and decisions are promptly transferred into action. |
